Robert McLaws: Windows Edition

Blogging about Windows since before Vista became a bad word

Vanishing Point: Phoenix 1-13-2007

Microsoft made history last week when they projected video onto the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. This Saturday, 5 cities around the world will release the next set of clues in the Vanishing Point viral marketing campaign for Windows Vista. Phoenix is one of those cities, and I'll be at Margaret T. Hance Deck Park on Saturday @ 4pm to see what happens. I'll post the video as soon as I can. I also called the local news station, so we'll see if they're out there.

UPDATE: Could this week's clue be "etched in the sky"? We'll find out in a mere 24 hours...

  • I'll be at the same event here in Austin - looking forward to it...

Robert as I commented on your ping to Josh's blog before I released it was a pingback, Microsoft may have been the first to screen video on the Bellagio fountains but people have been displaying video on Water Screens for years. So I am not quite sure on what part of 'Microsoft made history...' you are getting at.

  • Stephen,

It's the first time it had been done at the bellagio fountains. I never claimed it was the first time video had been projected onto water.

  • I was pretty miffed to find out that the Austin event was cancelled!  And now that I see some of the event photos, I'm not surprised - we have terrible weather here today.  Very rainy and cloudy...
