PowerTogether.com Giveaway Closed, 30K Copies Won

As Ina Fried reports, Microsoft's free Vista & Office giveaway at PowerTogether.com is over. Apparently, 30,000 copies was the limit. And Microsoft outdid themselves this time. With the average retail price being $399 (Vista Biz @ $299 + Office Pro @ $499 / 2), Microsoft just gave away almost $12M in software.

Now, THAT'S cool.

Yes, that was really COOL. Free software for US citizens only. Another COOL action like this and I'm going to work with NOT-SO-COOL software but without this kind of injustice.

  • Injustice? Gimme a break man. We went over this already. There are far greater injustices in the world then YOU not being able to get a free copy of Vista. Geez.

Once you have watched all the required videos, whats next? I've watched three videos  for Vista and office, all it says on one side is completed and the other two of the videos say completed and one says pending.

When will I  know if I Qualify ?

I bet this free copy is crippled in the same way the "free to beta testers" copy is. That is, you can only activate it once.

Robert McLaws: How do you know I am not from USA? :-)

Well, I am not. But discovery of motivation isn't refutation. You can be sure I am crying like a little child because I haven't filled my low need of free operating system ("free" like in a "free beer", not like in a "freedom"), but still I may be right, just by chance.

Well, but if you say "We went over this already.", I believe there were really cool discussion, where all pros a cons were judged. I am very sad I wasn't there in right time. :-(

Your videos will say that they are pending for 24 hours after you viewed them. Once they are "approved" they will turn over to "completed" when three are completed in any one offer, a new message will be seen below the selection of videos letting you know, "Congrats...blah blah blah" not in so many words
