Robert McLaws: Windows Edition

Blogging about Windows since before Vista became a bad word

NVIDIA + Chutzpah = WTF?

It sure took some chutzpa for NVIDIA to do this after all the crap about their Vista drivers that have STILL gone unresolved.

Wow Now? Ummm... sure. I wanted to play around with this in Photoshop, but couldn't come up with anything funnier. Anyone else think this shirt is not representative of the real NVIDIA experience on Windows Vista?

Well, First I thought the same like that site, that Nvidia was crap, with lame support and bla bla bla. This is because I was working on my old pc, wich did have issues with the RAM, and Vista blaming Nvidia about the errors.

The biggest issue with the Nvidia drivers and hardware, is that it requires alot of power during boot and during games... Because of the not perfect drivers, Vista causes the Nvidia card to run on full power, what requires alot of power.

Nvidia requires that you have a power supply of 400 watt at minium. Most people, and I did have a supply of just 300 watt... What also may have give the issue.

Yes, the Nvidia support and there drivers are lame, and far from ready. And yes, they really messed up. However, since May they are really, (finally) working hard to fix the stuff up

Look at the site, you see that almost each day, or week a new (beta) driver is comming out, fixing alot of issues.

So in other words, Nvidia is really cleaning the mess up right now, and we need just one or two months to have the perfect driver.

With my new PC I got, since a few weeks, I run the Nvidia 8800 GTS without any issues. Yes dreamscene crashes once a week or so, but no game beats my current card.

So, I think we need to stop beating up Nvidia, because there really starting to work right now. Wich they didn't do around February.

The drivers have improved with the latest beta forceware, but they were down right horrible in earlier versions.

nVidia + Vista = Wow, I can' t believe the frame rates are so lo compared to XP

    Hehe Robert, good catch! :D

But you all should remember how DAAMIT have screwed up their cards. Half a year more time to develop compared to nVidia and cards don't work as should.
