Microsoft Is Pimping Windows 7 Beta Downloads on Facebook

I logged into my Facebook yesterday, and was greeted with this ad:

Judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews, this is a smart move on Microsoft’s part. You would have never seen this with the Vista beta, or any other beta, for that matter. Microsoft is usually only this generous with Windows Release Candidates. Speaking of which, there is only one week left to get your hands on the Beta, so you’d better get crackin!

One week... Unless you torrent the iso, and btw as far as I could tell they use the same five license keys for the beta, its just randomly selected. So if you see a key floating around the internet, its bound to work fine. Found this out when I went to get a key and clicked past the page without saving the key, I clicked back on the browser and it was a different key, after refreshing about 20 times I got the same 5 keys.

  • Question: I'm currently running the beta. But in a couple of weeks I'll be upgrading my computer. Replacing motherboard and CPU. Will I be able to install W7 on that system with the same key?

See my comment above. There are only about 5 keys Microsoft is using for the beta as far as I can tell... Install it on 50 computers and they won't care.
