Robert McLaws: Windows Edition

'Mac' Is Attempting To Deride You. Cancel or Allow?

I've been asked not to bash Macs too much anymore, since some of the Mac fans that read my site think that it hurts my credibility. Since I don't like pissing people unless it serves my purposes, I'll just post this next one without too much comment.

The security guy did a good job of looking away in an uncaring manner while addressing the subject. He must be retired Secret Service.

Oh yeah, and Bill... to answer your previous question, the rules of being mocked don't require that subject of said mocking be accurate. Just believable. However, countermocking requires as much truth as humanly possible.

Aww crap, did I just link to Paul Thurrott? Dammit, I think I owe someone $50...

I'll take the UAC over my machine mysteriously crashing and becoming a very expensive paper weight.  My G5 at work was killed due to a font cache becoming too big.  A font cache took down a UNIX operating system.  Ummm...what more is there to say?  Luckily all it took was reinstalling the OS and all my apps (wait a sec, wasn't this last step supposed to be unnecessary on Macs)?

Now the other designer's system dies and this is likely due to a bad hard drive.  I'm not entierly sure since there are no warnings and Disk Utility claims the S.M.A.R.T. status is fine but our IT guy assures us it's a bad drive.  Ummm...a modern UNIX OS doesn't have any decent utilities for investigating bad hardware and software failures?

Look, there really isn't that much wrong with Macs.  I use one at work and have little trouble with it.  There really isn't anything wrong with Windows either however some peopel in this world seem to have way too much pent up hate and need to get laid or something.

Agree with stubear and Robert.  They are some many nuts on both sides (I am sometimes one of them).  But Apple is gotten alot worse with throughing false info around.  Wish there was more people out there like robert and myself trying to help the consumer.
